MDFP's ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EMS)
MDFP is committed to practicing sustainable forestry. This commitment extends from the senior management to the employees and contractors.
The health and safety of employees, contractors and the public is covered in the MDFP Health and Safety Manual. Health and Safety is also covered in general terms in the Environmental Management System. Both systems are related, have similar contributing causes to incidents and similar methods to resolve and prevent problems. The two systems need to function together for both systems to be effective andefficient.

HIGHLIGHTS of MDFP'S EMS
The EMS was developed with management of: sustainable forestry, protection of the environment, health and safety, community needs and MDFP's operations in mind. This has allowed for a system which allows MDFP's operations to be flexible enough to adapt to meet the needs of these other non-timber values. This flexibility is part of the key to ensuring that MDFP can meet the principles and objectives of the SFI 2010-2014 standard.
